On September 18th our Board member Mr. Theodorus Wilhelmus Maria Lippmann has passed away. Dorus Lippmann has been our much valued secretary of the Levi Lassen Foundation since April 1st 1978. For over thirty years Dorus has actively and enthusiastically given meaning to the realization of our activities in The Hague, within Jewish Netherlands and our projects in Israel. In an inspiring and moving way he was intensely involved with the professionalizing and growth of our Foundation. We loose a much appreciated board member and unique person. His inspiring guidance, devotion, friendship and warmth will be missed forever.

Prompted by its desire to make a lasting contribution to social improvement, Stichting Levi Lassen (the foundation) provides financial support to institutions that serve the common good. The foundation follows a purposeful and deliberate grant making policy.

The foundation aims to serve the public interest by financing initiatives designed to bring about lasting improvements to society. By virtue of the foundation’s mandate, two-thirds or more of the foundation’s funding budget are to go to Jewish organisations.

In Israel the primary beneficiaries are non-profit organisations which are dedicated to bringing about projects in the field of social and economic justice. The interest areas are (economic) empowerment, fighting poverty, human rights, environmental justice, leadership development, pluralism and Jewish-Arab coexistence. The target populations are women, minorities, youth, orthodox and elderly Dutch Jews living in Israel. The target areas are Jerusalem, Galil and the Negev.
