| The foundation provides financial support to projects both in the Netherlands and abroad. In the Netherlands it focuses mainly on the city of The Hague and its immediate surroundings. Outside the Netherlands the foundation takes a special interest in the state of Israel. |
| In Israel the goal of the Levi Lassen Foundation is to strengthen social justice, freedom and equality for all citizens. We have invested over the last 40 years in hundreds of Not for Profit organizations, and our focus now is cultivation of a strong and influential civil society and social entrepreneurship, which will have a sustainable impact on social change. Our grantees organize communities, advocate for equitable policies and empower disadvantaged Israelis to help their communities and themselves. |
| To support this strategy we accept grant proposals from NGO's which are active in the following areas: Empowerment, Economic Empowerment, Fighting Poverty, Human Rights, Pluralism, Youth Leadership, Jewish-Arab Joint Living and Environmental Justice. |
| We have a preference for projects which involve Youth, Women, Minorities and Orthodox Jews who reside in the entire social periphery, including Jerusalem, Galil and the Negev and also elderly Dutch Jews living in Israel.
We usually support innovative projects, carried out by small- medium size grassroots organizations, which are run by a professional enthusiastic management, and can demonstrate results, not just good intentions. Our priority is for projects which have a long term focus, create public awareness, make good use of advocacy and have a measurable and sustainable impact.
More specifically, the foundation supports projects in Israel falling in the following categories and subcatogories focusing on the categories with an * |
